MS2 processor changed, need help, xprog, bdm...

Post by Gumetina »

Hello,

I am new to this forum, and i see plenty of nice people willing to help :)

I bought a second hand MS2 daughterboard that has a fried 9s12 (12v) and i need some help to upload firmware to the newely installed mcu.

I have xprog-m bdm interface that can only accept .bin files, i tried to upload bootstrap, msns extra firmware etc. but the board acts dead, and i get 0xe0 error (tiemout)....

It seems i am missing serial monitor or i am doing something wrong ?

Can somebody help me, or share the files needed ? Can this be done with my xprog programmer that does not suppport s19 files ?

Kind Regards

RAle

Hello and welcome!

I have been using some cheap ebay BDM programmer with Hiwave flasher tool that comes with Freescale CodeWarrior package.

First you need to flash the serial monitor code with the BDM. The serial monitor image file isn't officially available but it's circulating on the net, usually under name "S12SerMon2r1.abs". If you can't find it you can send me a PM with your email address.

Once the serial monitor code is in you can load the firmware through serial port in boot jumper mode.
