Problem with edis ???

I hope you don´t delete this topic
I installed ms1 ver 2.2 and edis to my subaru but it doesn´t read the trigger at all (I´ve tried a lot) it shows 0RPM when starter is going but if I move the sensor near to 4 bolts which are holding the trigger then it reads about 200rpm with starter

What could be the problem? the trigger is made with water cut I think (36-1) about 13 cm

What kind of sensor do you have? Have you read datasheet of it? Maybe you have wrong kind of sensor for you trigger wheel?

i have no idea....the sensor came from some kind of ford with edis (maybe it read flywheel bebore) Today I tried one opel sensor and symptoms are same

So you think that problem is on sensor and trigger is OK

how deep should be the teeth? 5mm is enouh or not?

Are you sure the sensor (and the rest of the setup) is wired correctly? If the polarity is wrong it will/might not work correctly. What's the gap between sensor and trigger wheel teeths?

I have tried to change +and - but its same. I have tried about 100 different positions. (air space between sensor and trigger was ~0,5-5mm when I was trying to find aga correct place and sometimes eaven more ) I have tried 2 different sensors... Wirning must be correct.

Do you have spark? I mean that if it's megasquirt related and edis would be working correctly?

when the sensor was on thouse 4 bolts then I saw the spark. I think that the trigger is too small for this sensor....maybe there are smaller or better sensors.....?

What size are the teeths in the trigger wheel?

Check also that the trigger wheel is ferrous material. You can do it by putting a magnet on it and if it sticks then its Ok. If not -check that your sensor works with non-ferrous materials..

Already did that and its ferrous. I think that the top of the sensor is too big for this trigger or the trigger tooth is too small for that sensor.

So what size were the teeths?

material was 5mm, teeth is 5mm and space between them are too 5mm.

could anybody show me the pics of therir trigger which works with edis?

Have you checked this DTA manual
http://www.dtafast.co.uk/Downloads/Manu ... Manual.zip. There is some info about EDIS trigger wheels. Hope it helps you.

My trigger wheel has same size teeths and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the DTA manual.

Thank you, i think that I have to find a new sensor then (which works with smaller teeth than they are on the flywheel.)

I bought a new BMW sensor now (My frend has a same sensor and same trigger and it works) I made some changes and belt wheel is now smaller one and it cant make a mess there but it still doesn´t read a RPM
When I hold the starter going then on the first time it jumps up to ~200RPM and after that it falls down to 0 RPM immediately.....if I hold starter second time it shows onli 0RPM but if I unconnect sensor or ecu power for a while it shows me some rpm like on first time....(for a second only)
EDIT: I heard that it doesn´t need to be connected with ecu at all to make a spark....so I removed SAW and checked PIP pin and it was correct (24) but nothing happened. then I found this:
EDIS module has a built-in VR signal hysteresis - when the VR signal is passing from negative to positive polarity (next tooth is approaching), the signal must reach +0.5 volts before the EDIS module will "arm".
And measured that it makes only up to 0,3V and maybe this is te key

Now I´m looking for trigger reading ford sensor but on which car are they....I know that thouse could be found from 2,9 scorpio (152kw)

Could anybody tell me which VR he uses with EDIS?
From which car I have to find it....?
I mean with smaller triggers because I think that with bigger trigger works the original escort sensor too because then would be there bigger spaces between tooth
